Night-time Medley

The Cello’s wand is gliding through
My waiting heart, impatient and so still.
His chorus joined by hands on keys wakes you
To open fibers of my heart to spill.
You touch me in this melody mourning,
Embracing the sorrow, for you’re away,
Gone in darks of night, mayhap beast slaying,
Yet slaying me while you’re not here to sway.
Sway with the lingering tune y’ternal send
Kiss with the heart, but return with tender hands
To enter and heal my soul, my self mend
That I may wander with you burning sands.
For when the daystar goes to rest I find
Your breath comes close, your shadow far behind.
